These services include site acquisition, design and construction, to full operations, maintenance, and deconstruction.

Position Summary

OSP planning engineer will be responsible for capacity provisioning, strategic planning and sizing network additions. Specific duties may include, but not limited to:

Planning

. Anticipate and plan for capacity requirements in the network

. Perform short-term and long term network forecasting

. Interpret service provider forecast data and utilize in planning/design.

. Interpret latest service provider architecture and standards as pertains to planning and design

. Plan for service-on-demand in market areas

Design

. Layout and design of the telecommunication network elements in accordance with the network design criteria. This includes developing and defining the optimum route corridor and identify the type of construction required (ie aerial, underground, open trench, direction bore, plough, etc)

. Perform a right of way and route assessment to confirm a route corridor is acceptable and will be built in the most cost effective manner.

. Conduct a route or site walk down to collect data of all surface features and underground utility data necessary to support the preparation of design prints that are complete and suitable for construction of a project.

. Responsible for the preparation of detailed construction drawings depicting all underground and above ground elements and proposed work.

. Completing accurate and detailed field notes, drafting, and validating cable routes and network element placement and interface.

. BS in Civil Engineering or a minimum of four (4) years OSP engineering design with 1 years specific in OSP planning required

. Must have the right to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship required

. Fiber Optic design/installation experience (cable placement, testing, network interface) required

. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required

. Desktop automation skills (Microsoft Office Suite) required

. Previous experience and ability to manage 2 direct reports preferred

. Experience working in ARES or ARAMIS design platforms preferred

. Experience working in LFACS/MARTEN preferred
