Head of Data Centre Network Engineering - Hedge Fund

Hybrid working.* 3 days office (London)

Prestigious financial services client is looking for a Head of Data Centre Network Engineering to join their team in London. You will be leading a team of network engineers delivering all aspects of network architecture and design related to the data centre estate. The scope of the team is to deliver network solutions which enable full life cycle management (architect, design, build, operate, retire) for their data centre network components across core network switching, Firewalls, load balancers, instrumentation/telemetry, network CMDB and automation. They implement a strict IaC (Infrastructure as Code) mindsight, therefore you should be able to demonstrate the delivery of complex networks through a software and automation-driven mindset.

Skills and experience required:

• Experience developing and delivering network engineering strategy.
• Lead and mentor a team of networking engineers, ensuring consistent delivery, setting performance goals, whilst coaching and motivating the team fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrate expert knowledge of delivering complex network architectures delivered via software drive and agile methodology
• Oversee the design and implementation of complex network solutions, ensuring high availability, security and performance.
• Deep knowledge of delivering networks supporting high-performance computing architectures at hyperscale levels.
• Deep knowledge of the network vendor ecosystem and be able to demonstrate building engineering relationships at senior layers with vendor product and engineering teams.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the network infrastructure remains cutting-edge.
• As a senior engineering leader you will partner closely with our research and other infrastructure engineering teams and work in a highly collaborative manner.
